Biography
Established in 1996 as an up and coming DJ, Unkut quickly impressed his peers with the art of mixing vinyl.
Being immersed in the local scene of Swindon, UK, Unkut was looking for further outlets for his music and joined the pirate radio crew Blaze FM, giving him the opportunity to play a broader spectrum of music reflecting a wide range Dance/Electronic tastes quickly building up a large audience.
The success of the station and shows lead to Unkut’s first residency at the Brunel Rooms playing at status nights such as The Fruit Club and Best of British which had seen him playing at many events with diverse musical range along side names such as The Ratpack, DJ Slipmatt, Mickey Finn, Shy FX and Randall.
With the momentum increasing and playing at bigger events , in 2009 he had his first project producing/engineering three “new rave” tracks for “Future Rave Anthems 2” compilation producing tracks with DJ Faydz and by early 2010 the tracks had success on radio 1 with heavy support from DJ Kutski as well as reaching No 1 on the itunes chart.
Recently Unkut has had various pseudonyms catering for various musical genre’s including his own independent label and as well as a string of top ten hits and no 1’s has gained support on radio 1 / 1xtra and rinse FM with support from names such as Hostage, Doc Scott, Hannah Wants and Kevin Saunderson.
On hearing about the return of Full Cycle Records and having been in contact with Roni Size for a few years, Unkut did not hesitate to write some D&B in his jungle infused style, which Roni gave the seal of approval to. Bringing us right up to the present day, when we are very pleased to announce that Unkut is now an official part of the Full Cycle family. With his debut EP on Full Cycle Records being released later in 2017, as he says himself, “the Renaissance is coming”. Watch this space for news and links.
